Golden Wellness, Inc. is redefining fitness in the retirement and rehabilitation industries with health and wellness solutions for seniors and individuals with physical limitations. The first in our family of products, the Fitness ArchTM is an innovative, patent pending piece of medical exercise equipment that reduces the risk of falls while improving balance and strengthening the body.
Founded in 2005, Golden Wellness began as a service organization designing fitness programs for retirement communities. Our founder, Leo Novsky, became alarmed at the high rate of falls in the industry and the ineffectiveness of most existing exercise equipment for achieving senior fitness. Each year, 30% of adults 65 years and over experience a fall, with falls being the leading cause of disability and hospitalizations for trauma. Falls also account for 70% of accidental deaths for people over 75.
Further, individuals who have fallen once are more likely to fall again and often develop a profound fear of falling, which causes them to limit their activities. Yet the majority of existing exercise equipment available is unable to provide a safe and accessible experience for older and disabled users.
